Gramophone Awards 2018

PPL is proud to have supported the Gramophone Classical Music Awards again in 2018.

The Gramophone Awards were launched in 1977 at the suggestion of the record industry who felt that such an annual event was lacking. As the 41st Awards ceremony approaches, the Gramophone Awards are firmly established as the world’s most respected and influential arbiters in the world of classical music.

As well as honouring recorded music across a number of genres - one of which is named Recording of the Year - the Awards also celebrate an Artist of the Year, Young Artist of the Year and bestows a Lifetime Achievement Award.

In 2018 PPL and PRS for Music are jointly sponsoring the Contemporary category. The Arditti Quartet with Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France and Pascal Rophé win the Contemporary award for their recording of Dusapin's Quatuors VI & VII on Aeon.
