Joining PPL

PPL issues licences to users of sound recordings. The revenue collected is then distributed to our performer and record company members.

Joining PPL is free and helps ensure you receive your share of the revenues collected.

In 2008 licence fee income was £127.6 million which after operating expenses meant £110.3 million was available for distribution to performers and record companies.

You need only fill out the online member registration form to begin the process.

To complete the form you need to supply PPL with contact details including postal address, phone number and email.

Once you have successfully submitted your details and evidence of citizenship and residence, we will send you confirmation of your registration.
